As of May 10, the Netherlands has 4 hantavirus cases (2 deaths) linked to the MV Hondius cruise ship outbreak (Andes virus). Dutch passengers/crew were among the earliest and most severely affected, with medical evacuations from the vessel. This is part of a contained international cluster with no evidence of wider community spread. Contact tracing and monitoring continue.
